May 7, 2019 – As part of Emergency Preparedness Week, there are two scheduled emergency communications tests.
Scheduled for 1:55pm PST on May 8, 2019 there will be a test of Canada’s Emergency Alerting System, Alert Ready. Test Alerts will be broadcast on Television, Radio and Compatible Wireless Devices across most provinces and territories. For more information, visit www.alertready.ca.
Scheduled for 2:00pm PST on May 8, 2019 there will be a test of Kitimat’s Emergency Alerting System, Rapid Notify. The Test Alert will be released to all devices that have been registered to receive emergency messaging and many phone numbers listed in the local phone directory.
