KITIMAT, BC – In an effort to better serve the public, the District of Kitimat is extending the hours of operation for reception in the main municipal office. Effective February 28, 2019, the municipal office reception will be open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. Basic reception desk services will be available from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and regular municipal office services will be available the rest of the time.

The District of Kitimat’s main municipal office is located at 270 City Centre in Kitimat on the third floor of the City Centre Mall.

“We are always looking for ways that we can better serve the public, and extending the public hours of our municipal office reception is another step forward”, stated Mayor Phil Germuth. He added, “Council believes that this is a perfect time to extend the hours, as we are anticipating a higher volume of reception desk traffic due to increased activity in our community during the construction of the LNG Canada project.”
