BEARS IN NECHAKO AREA

 

April 26, 2021 – There have been reports of grizzly bear(s) behind Lahakas Blvd. near Kitimat City High School in the Nechako neighborhood.

 

Please use caution in these areas and please leave the bear(s) alone. Do not stop or slow down to take pictures of the bears while driving.

It is an offence to feed or harass wildlife, and violators can face penalties under the Wildlife Act. The bear(s) has not demonstrated aggressive behavior at this time.

 

If there is an emergency involving a bear or if the bear is aggressive call 911.  To report bears, call the Conservation office at
