The Canada Post strike may affect your ability to send utility bills, permits, licences and other payments to the District of Kitimat. It may also affect our ability to send cheques, invoices and other correspondence to residents and vendors.
To ensure payments are received by the District in time, we offer the following suggestions:
- Online payments: Payments can be made through your financial institution’s online banking service.
- At Your Bank: Payments can also be made in person or by telephone through your bank.
- At the Municipal Office: Payments are accepted in-person and over the phone at the Municipal Office front counter during office hours (8:30am – 4:30pm). Our mail slot can be used to drop off cheques and other mail between 8:00am and 6:00pm on weekdays (please note that the mail slot cannot be accessed on weekends).
- By Courier: Consider using a courier service to send cheques and other mail to the District if needed.
