Local response
The District of Kitimat is home to the province's only remaining dual-service fire station. This means our fire hall responders are trained both as firefighters and paramedics and will respond to all emergency calls within the community.

Within the District of Kitimat, fire bans are communicated in the following ways:
- As a news post on the Kitimat.ca home page. You can subscribe to news posts to receive them directly to e-mail.
- Shared on the District of Kitimat's Facebook and Instagram pages.
- Sent as a notification to our Voyent Alert subscribers.
- Signs posted at outdoor District grounds such as campgrounds and Minette Bay West Park.
- As shared through local news media.

Kitimat is served by Marine and by Ground Search and Rescue groups. Search and Rescue teams are called into action through local emergency responders when their services are required.
