Kitimat has several services available for those who may be in need. 

Affordable Housing

BC Housing develops, manages and administers a wide range of subsidized housing options across the province in partnership with public and private housing providers, other levels of government and community agencies. BC Housing also operates Douglas Place a 22- unit affordable rental building at 
480 City Centre.

Airport Transportation Subsidy
For seniors 60 years or over, disabled or economically-challenged individuals, the District of Kitimat Airport Transportation Subsidy Program provides partial fare reimbursement.
Emergency Support Services

Kitimat Emergency Support Services (ESS) assists people forced from their homes due to emergencies.

Kitimat ESS may assist with matters such as food, lodging, clothing, emotional support, information about the crisis, first aid, child minding, pet care, and transportation.

Kitimat Community Development Centre
The Kitimat Community Development Centre (Kitimat CDC) is a non-profit charity which initially started out offering services to children with special needs. The Kitimat CDC now offers a variety of programs and services to community members.
Kitimat Community Services

Community services in Kitimat are provided by a variety of provincial and federal agencies and non-profit groups. Some non-profit groups receive support from Kitimat Council under Kitimat's Community Grants/Sponsorship Program.
