Spring Craft Fair

Our annual spring craft and business fair provides a venue for all home-based businesses, including artisans and crafters, to promote and sell their merchandise. Please fill out an application if you'd like to participate.

Family New Year's Eve

Get your family together and celebrate on New Year's Eve with games, swimming, skating and other activities that are fun for families.

Tamitik Jubilee Sports Complex, 396 City Centre

Admission

This is a free event.

Children 6 years and under must be accompanied by a person 14 years or older at all times.

Fish Derby

Thank you to all 2018 participants! Find the Kitimat Fish Derby results here.

The Kitimat Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Kitimat Fish Derby on Labour Day weekend in early September each year.

Gingerbread House Challenge

Each Christmas season we invite you to get creative and build your gingerbread house masterpiece.

We'll display the houses for the public to view and vote on. 

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

  • Youth
  • Adult
  • Family
  • Business
  • Group or organization
  • School classroom

Rules

  • More than three quarters of the house must be gingerbread
  • The board can be no bigger than 24” x 26”

Guns 'n Hoses Hockey Tournament

Come out for a fun evening of hockey and watch the Kitimat Fire and Rescue group play against the Kitimat RCMP detachment.  All proceeds go to KidSport Kitimat.

Hallowe'en Howl

Kitamaat Open Basketball Tournament

This annual three day cultural warming event includes some of northern BC's top women's and men's basketball teams.

Kitimat Mud and Mini Mud Games

The Kitimat Mud and Mini-Mud Games in August 2018 were a big success.

Check back here in 2019 for information on the 3rd annual mud games.

Light Up Kitimat

The Kitimat Chamber of Commerce organizes this annual Christmas event. 

Christmas lights, Christmas songs sung by carollers, food and a visit by Santa all help create a fun, festive atmosphere for families to enjoy.

Memorial Hill Climb

The Kitimat Memorial Hill Climb takes place in late June or early July each year and is open to drag racers from all over the province.

Motorcycle Show 'n Shine

The Kitimat Chamber of Commerce invites motorcycle enthusiasts to polish up their bikes and put them on display at the annual Motorcycle Show 'n Shine.

Enter to win door prizes.  Vote for your favourite bike for Best in Show.

All proceeds go to the Kitimat Humane Society.

Outdoor Movie

In 2018 the outdoor movie was Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (PG) 

Check back here next summer for information on the 2019 outdoor movie.

  • Outdoor movies take place in August at Riverlodge, starting at dusk, sometime after 9:30 p.m.
  • Bring a chair/blanket
  • A concession will sell snacks
  • If it rains we move into the Riverlodge gym
Rail Jam

Youth and young adults get to show off their snowboarding and skiing skills at this entertaining family event in Kitimat's downtown core. Food vendors and music create a great atmosphere for this fun winter event.
