The Kitimat public library is located downtown in city centre.

Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Mother Goose pre-school story times
  • Author events, seasonal crafts and a variety of literacy programs for all ages
  • Study space and lounge area
  • Computer stations, including free internet access and office software
  • Free wifi access and computer instruction

  • Photocopier/fax/scanner and print services
  • Reference help
  • Interlibrary loans
  • Meeting room rental at $15.00 per hour

Library Cards

  • Membership cards are free with either proof of Kitimat or Kitamaat Village residency or by presenting a valid membership card from another BC public library.
  • If you are from outside the province you may purchase a membership for a small fee.

Late Fees

$0.15/day to a $10.00 maximum

After hours book drop-off

There is an after-hours book drop-off box available outside the library entrance.

Note: If any digital or electronic items are placed in the book drop-off, a fine of $1.00 per item applies (including CDs and DVDs).
