Fall craft fair

Our annual Christmas Craft & Gift Sale provides a venue for you to promote and sell your hand-crafted wares.

Fish derby

The Kitimat Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual fish derby on Labour Day weekend in early September each year.

Gingerbread house challenge

Get creative and build your gingerbread house masterpiece. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

  • youth
  • adult
  • family
  • business
  • group or organization
  • school classroom

Rules

  • More than three quarters of the house must be gingerbread
  • The board can be no bigger than 24” x 26”

Deadline

Bring your house to Riverlodge on November 30, 2017. The winner will be announced at Breakfast with Santa on December 9, 2017.

Entry fee

One unwrapped gift for the Kitimat Christmas hamper drive.

Run walk festival

Every year Kitimat hosts healthy Active Living 5K, 10K or half marathon event. Celebrate your active community while supporting KidSport Kitimat. No registrations taken the day of the event.

Saturday, June 18th, 2017

  • 8:00 a.m. for 21 km run
  • 8:30 a.m. for 10 km walk
  • 9:00 a.m. for all other distances

All proceeds raised go to support KidSport Kitimat.

Memorial hill climb

This is a free family event. Come watch drag racing by dragsters from all over the province.

Location

The section of Haisla Boulevard from Tsimshian Boulevard to Kingfisher Avenue.

When

Saturday, July 2, 2017 (rain out day: July 3)

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For your safety, please watch from behind the roped off area.

If you have young children please ensure their ears are protected with ear muffs or ear plugs as revving of engines can be loud.

Mudder games

This is the mud course where you can challenge your skills and abilities. Get ready to tackle some extreme and fun obstacles designed to push you to your limit.

Spring craft fair

Our annual spring craft and business fair provides a venue for all home-based businesses, including artisans and crafters, to promote and sell their merchandise. Please fill out an application if you'd like to participate.

Winter rail jam

Youth and young adults get to show off their snowboarding and skiing skills at this entertaining family event in Kitimat's downtown core. Food vendors and music add to the fun and festivities.

Family New Year 's Eve

Get your family together and celebrate New Year's with games, swimming, skating and more at Tamitik Jubilee Sports Complex.

December 31 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This is a free event.

Children under 7 years of age must be accompanied by a person 14 years or older at all times.

Halloween howl

Bring your kids in costume for some safe indoor Hallowe'en fun at Riverlodge Recreation Centre. This event includes spooky games, activities and refreshments.
